ASSOCIATE PORTFOLIO MANAGER

The position

Waterway Wealth Management is looking for an Associate Portfolio Manager (PM) with a CFA designation, or someone who is working towards their CFA designation, with 4 or more years of relevant industry experience. The ideal candidate must be a motivated team player who possesses the ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, take ownership and accountability for their actions and be enthusiastic and capable of advancing their knowledge and understanding beyond the scope of their specific functions. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Trading/Rebalancing
  • Execute daily trades, including portfolio/account rebalancing and related transactions
  • Proactively monitor accounts for upcoming option expirations, bond maturities, low cash balances, and corporate actions
  • Monitor portfolios to confirm all portfolios are in compliance with strategy guidelines
  • Manage firm’s portfolio trading rebalancer
  • Execute on market volatility plan based on market movement
Due Diligence
  • Coordinate manager due diligence calendar and pipeline with Senior PM/CIO
  • Schedule vendor correspondence, follow-ups, updated materials, and documentation
  • Actively participate and lead calls with managers
  • Maintain systems and alerts-Proactively monitor internal alerts, monthly, for change
Reporting/Portfolio Construction/Research
  • Create, distribute, and trouble-shoot investment team related reports
  • Take on projects to support the investment process/client experience as directed by leadership
  • Assist with analytics for large data sets–Portfolio construction, tax strategy, drift, performance etc.
Investment Portion of Planning Process
and Collaboration with Planning Team
  • Create presentation materials and talking points for financial advisors
  • Lead strategic projects for planner collaboration and the investment component of eMoney (deliverables for new plans, investment related proposals and requests, integrations, and systems)
  • Co-Lead monthly advisor updates including materials creation, correspondence, and presenting
Client Service and Support
  • Complete investment portion of review meeting process
  • Lead the investment portion of client meetings, as needed
  • Assist team members as back-up, if needed
  • Client Correspondence (investment-related)

Necessary Work Skill

  • Must have basic investment concepts (MPT)
  • Must be able to perform centralized trade analysis and compliance for client portfolios
  • Must have strong analytical skills, sense of urgency and accountability to assist team members
  • Must have attention to detail to maintain credibility and confidence to team and clients
  • Must have a growth mindset and an enthusiasm for learning new skills
  • Must have the ability work with direction and also independently
  • Must demonstrate consistent work ethic and work product
  • Must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment

Education, Designation and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CFA Designation or working toward CFA
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience in similar or related field
  • Familiar with Bloomberg, FactSet, Black Diamond, Morningstar, Fidelity, and Aladdin is a plus

This position requires your presence in the office. This is NOT a remote position.
